A more accurate word for 'Talent' is skill which is totally arguable, There isn't one musician anywhere that just picked up the guitar and started playing. Just about anything we do in life has to be 'learned' and some people may even pick up on something faster, This does not neccessarily mean they are 'talented' but probably more so that they are just good at what they are doing...
I probably have wasted more than an entire week on the 'rubiks' cube, I know I may never solve it unless I spend time learning how the people that can solve it do it. There are three year olds on Youtube solving the rubiks cube which is a strong indication that solving the cube is a 'skill', There are even the 'speedsolvers' that do it in less than a minute... (even one handed in 22 seconds)
Solving the Cube...

Is it talent or is it a skill?
I beleive almost 100% that this is a 'Skill' and not talent at all, I also beleive that learning the guitar is also a skill that can be learned by anyone. I may one day learn the 'theory' behind the rubiks cube and then I could probably solve it in several hours or even minutes, Until then I will look like an untalented bumbling moron trying to solve it...
The theory behind music is way more extensive than the theory behind the rubiks cube but both can be learned, If you don't like what you are doing (whatever it is) then you will most likely fail. When you think someone is talented in the future then you should really look at what they are doing to see if it's something that can be learned, There are lots of things in life that require alot of time and effort and playing guitar is one of those things...
