Slide Hampton was an honored legend at the 2005 jazz fest in Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation inducted Mr. Hampton into their Hall of Fame which is what kicked off saturday. Slide plays Jobim played a few songs before bringing in Maucha Adnet to sing, Others playing include Claudio Rodirti, Greg Gisbert, and John Lee.
It was a great mellow set that was enjoyable (even with no guitars) -

This kind of jazz is what makes jazz popular, it was really easy to listen to. It wasn't too loud, wasn't too soft - It wasn't too fast and it wasn't too slow - there wasn't too much trombone and there wasn't too much saxaphone, It was just right - If any of the shows at the fest were spread out in all spectrums it was the group Slide Hampton put together for this Saturday afternoon show.
