   The G major chord shape is pretty much the same for the 3 keys that it is in, the variations come with the extended chords. The major shapes are closely or directly relative to the Minor Shapes C A G E D

   These chords are not named 'G Major' - the note with the 'white dot' is the naming-root tone, These shapes also will be used three times for each key, or once for each major tone (for the Key of G it would be G C D). A common shape based chord are 'dominant chords'...
