Open tunings are VERY cool - Open tuning is when you Tune your guitar so that when you strum the OPEN strings, or without any fingers on any of the frets, It would sound a Chord. (this tuning it would sound out the Chord below, In standard tuning
"When she talks to angels" is a Song the is In "Open E" - This means that If you are properly tuned to "Open E" which is an E Major chord then just strumming the open notes sounds the E major Chord.
Above is the "E Major CHORD" which uses the Three notes (E - G# - B) The E major is in three Keys so the Key is not defined here, Regardless, when you tune to Open E; you are merely rearranging the Open Notes on your guitar.
Below we show you the Notes as they would Lay in the Key of E - Normally we Show you in the Key of C because of simplicity, but here we are straying off to the Key of E seeing that the open chord is E -
The Notes in the Key of E are: E F# G# A B C# D#

The Greatest thing about this tuning is that you can make Every Major chord with ONE FINGER - The great thing about this tuning is That you can use one finger to Barre across all 6 strings and no matter what fret you play on it will be a Major Chord.
To tune this way, Make sure your Bottom string is tuned to E and then the tuning pattern is:

The deeper part is that you Change Every Chord pattern you may have learned for Standard tuning so it is almost like playing a Different Scale. Lets look at The Basic chords and how they compare to Standard Tuning.
