Making a Chord

When you start learning to make the various chords on the guitar you should not be real concerned about the "proper" fingering of a chord - Just however you can do it is fine.... Even when you are used to forming the chord shapes, how you finger a chord depends on what chord you are going to next or even what chord you are coming from.

Here's Sonya showing "Two" - In the beginning it is difficult to show 2 so she would start off counting with the thumb and had problems doing it the "normal" way (peace sign) - If you are older than 5, chances are it is very easy to hold up your first two fingers rather than using your thumb...

When making a chord it is only important to hold down the right notes and not to bend the string, If you can do that then what fingers you used is in a way irrelevant. Spending five hours trying to make a C major chord is probably normal to most, It does not mean that you don't have the talent to play guitar. (The C major is hard to make when you first start)

You may spend hours trying to make a C major chord but the C major is used in a lot of songs so it will not be in vain...
