CAGED is a terminology that refers to chord shapes, a C Major chord SHAPE is not always a C major chord - The C major SHAPE is a C major chord only one time, there are 12 C Major SHAPES so the best way to learn this shape is from the root position. Everything needs a starting point and the root position exactly that - Whenever you move the shape around, the half x determines the name of the chord (X Major, X minor, X diminished) The chord names are shown in the status window on the left top corner of the worksheet...
This lesson is to show you that all of the keys share the same "Shapes" to make up the chords for that key, and those shapes have the same root positions that identify the chord that you are playing. This has only shown the shapes for the "C Major Chord"... There are also Minor shapes, we will update this page when we build that one.
