Barre Chords - Left Handed

Barre chords are nothing more than chords that are moved up the neck of the guitar, Whenever you play a chord in the open position you normally use your first three fingers, When you 'barre' a chord then your first finger acts kinda like a capo so you end up using your last three fingers. To practice barre chords just pretend that you must hold down the 'open' strings, It may even help to barre all six strings even if the chord only uses the bottom four strings like the D major...

Each 'major' or 'minor' chord shape is used three times, This means that the 'E minor' shape can be used three time in any of the 12 keys. In the Key of C you would use this shape at the Open position (E minor), Then use the same shape at the 5th fret (A minor) and the same shape again at the 10th fret (D minor)...

The first position 'A minor' in the Key of C is also used 'three' times to make the E and D minor, Just remember that any basic 'major or minor' chord shape will be used three times...

------------------------------------------------------------

The first position 'D minor' can also be used for the other two minor chords (E minor and A minor), The first two shapes require you to hold down all six strings or the bottom five but this shape is one you don't have to hold down a bunch of tones you are not playing...

------------------------------------------------------------

The major and minor chords make up most of the chords that fall within a key, Of the seven basic chords possible you will find that six of them are major or minor. All of the major chords follow the same theory that we just showed using the minor chords, Each major chord shape will be used three(3) times to make all three major chords...
