Catching Up II...
Simple Lesson Plans

Our flash diagrams allow you to create custom 'worksheets' for studying guitar scales and chords, This is our attempt to show the possiblilitys and specific printable excercises...

Learning the Notes: For this plan your students will fill in the tones, Usually best for the Key of C...

(1) Open the Worksheet 7.2...
(2) Click a 'key' to study...
(3) Fade out the note names (#'s and b's)
(4) Print...

This is fairly straight forward and the student should be able to do it fairly quickly...

NOTE: This IS about learning the notes so the key of C should used initially... (if not perpetually)...

Learning CAGED: The students should be able to fill in all five 'C major' chords...

(1) Open the Worksheet 7.2...
(2) Click any 'key' to study
(3) Select a chord (mouseover to see - click and drag out to select)...
(4) Print...

You could use this for all types of chord building excercises,

Learning Octaves: Here the students are supplied with unnamed notes and they fill in the octaves...

(1) Open the Worksheet 7.2...
(2) Select the seven tones of any key, do not select a key...
(3) Fade out the tone names (#'s and b's) as well as the circles...
(4) Print...

Learning Chord Shapes - Students would identify the chords shape...

(1) Open the Worksheet 7.2...
(2) Build 2 - 3 chords...
(3) Fade out the tone names (#'s and b's) as well as the circles...
(4) Print...

Learning Shapes II. - Alot of people don't seem to know about our Chords Database, We will try to walk you through our flash chords diagram...

1. Go to the 'chords' database...
2. Click on any key (G for example)...
3. Stay on the initial position (1) or click on the +1>>> up to the 'fifth position'...
4. Print...

Make sure you use the print button that is on the diagram so you don't print the entire page, When you click on the 'Next +5' then you will cycle through the extensions of whatever chord you are in...

If you get lost then just start over by selecting a key again, The diagram pulls the chord information from a database so don't click to fast...

NOTE: You see only one diagram but the total 'printables' is 600 pages...

Learning Capo Points - The student will learn to identify the capo points...

(1) Open the Worksheet 7.2...
(2) Select any key...
(3) Print...

The capo points are easy to spot (the example shown shows the best points being the 4th, 6th, 11th and 16th frets)...

Another plan could be to pick a capo point and build an first position 'A shape' and identify it...

Extending Chords - This would help the student with the idea behind extending chords...

(1) Open the Worksheet 7.2...
(2) Select a Key...
(2) Select a Chord *...
(3) Fade out the tone names (#'s and b's) as well as the circles...
(4) Print...

* When you have a key selected then you will see the seven tones of that key, When you mouseover the tones then you will see the chord chart come up...

To select a 'chord chart' that is showing simply 'click' and drag out...

There are an endless number of different ways you can use our diagrams, These are just the ones we have come up with to get you use to the way the worksheets operate, You should also use the 'Print' button on the worksheet which hides all the faders and prints just the worksheet...
